No obstante, para los más curiosos, el 11 de noviembre no es una fecha cualquiera; de hecho, engloba efemérides muy importantes. ¿Sabías, por ejemplo, que tal día como hoy se produjo el primer minuto de silencio de la historia? Fueron dos, en realidad, pero sentaron las bases de una costumbre más que generalizada en la actualidad. Surgió concretamente hace 92 años, a las 11:00 del 11 de noviembre de 1919. ¿El motivo? Rendir homenaje a las víctimas de la Primera Guerra Mundial, justo cuando se cumplía el primer aniversario del fin de la contienda, momento en el que los alemanes entregaron las armas.

Las efemérides también han dejado grabado cómo un 11 de noviembre los nazis invadieron Vichy y completaron la invasión de Francia en la Segunda Guerra Mundial (1942), cómo Angola se independizó de Portugal (1975), cómo Bilbao inauguró su metro (1995) o cómo hace cinco años, en 2006, Sony lanzó en Japón la PlayStation 3.
En cuestiones matemáticas, su multiplicación da como resultado un palíndromo, es decir, una cifra o un nombre que se puede leer al igual de atrás para adelante: 111111 x 111111 = 12345654321.

La Música Española

En una época con tanta música basura en el mercado fonográfico mundial, la música española se destaca por su excelente nivel de calidad y belleza sonora. Sólo para nombrar dos o tres gigantes de la música americana, como Brasil, México y Estados Unidos, con talentos de indiscutible calidad musical, prevalece, desafortunadamente, la música basura, la música desechable de un mercado poco o nada exigente musicalmente, cuyo único fin es "hacer caja" con la "media"aprovechadora y oportunista. Afortunadamente, aunque con mayores dificuldades, eses grandes talentos triunfan junto a un público selecto y mucho más exigente en matéria de música de verdad. Muchos son independientes, sin los sellos de las grandes discográficas. Es interesantísimo el caso de los artistas, músicos, cantantes y cantautores españoles, de una calidad excepcional. Lo más interesante es que en España la música basura es la excepción a la regla. O sea, es la minoria absoluta. Difícil hasta de nombrar(los).
